ZHANG LIJIE/INDEPENDENT CURATOR (CHINA)


ZHANG Lijie (b.1981) is an artist/curator based in Beijing, CHINA. She holds a MA degree in Journalism from Beijing Normal University and a MA degree in Fine Arts, University of Arts London.

In her dual role as an artist and curator, Lijie currently working on a number of long-term personal projects, which include The Innocent: artists with mentally disorders, The Rare: rare diseases in Mainland of China, Wonderland, Photo book project: Midnight Tweedle, etc. She has curated solo and group show of contemporary Chinese female photographers, raw art of mentally disabled people, Autism art, etc.

She is a member of Eyes on china Project and she has been exhibited in China and internationally. She wins multiple grants and awards, include Magnum Foundation Human Rights and Photography Fellowship, FIYTA Photographer’s Award, XU Xiaobing National Photography Award, HOU Dengke Documentary Photography Awards, etc.
